How did your past affect your relationship with money?

How is your past relationship with money? Are you struggling with money? Chasing and chasing after it, yet it seems so far off. It looks like you can't hold on to money for long, or it just don't come to you. Have you ever wonder why do some people around you create wealth faster than you do?

Do you agree with me that your past relationship with money got to do with your current situation?

If you do not agree, please click the "back" button; go to the previous page for other articles.

Hey, I'm just kidding, this article is very important to you. You may find out about your relationship with money here and ways to hold on to it.

Remember the time when you were three, twelve and seventeen, and see what comes out for you. Here are some questions to help you.

  • Did your friends have things that you didn't?
  • Were you ashamed to bring your friends home to your house?
  • Did you hear your parents fight about money?
  • Did you get money every time you went to see your grandparents?
  • Did you steal from piggy banks, your parents' wallets, and
  • the stationery store?
  • What did your parents tell you about money that made you feel good? That made you feel bad?

As you are thinking back to your past, close your eyes. See whatever you can; remember what the scene looked like. With your child's eyes, and with your adult eyes you have now, remember everything you can.

Every one of us has a memory that tells a part of the story of who we are today. If you let your memory flow, it will reveal the roots of the cause that so strongly rule your financial life today.

For example, when I was young, my mum repeated this sentence, "Money doesn't come easy." I had this mindset while growing up, thinking that I have to work very hard to have money.

This resulted in me working in a traditional way to earn money. Exchanging my time for very little money, getting nowhere.

Until I attended a seminar, I realized this past memory as been affecting the way I build my wealth. There are other faster ways in building my wealth around me yet I could not see it due to this memory.

Another example was my grandmother would give me money when I visited her. But my mother will always tell me not to take the money.

So from young, I believed that it's not right to take money from others. With this mindset I felt guilty whenever someone gave me money. I lose power when someone is generous to give me any money.

When I began my business, I face the challenge of asking money from my clients. It took me awhile to overcome this belief that I hold.
