Just throwing some flyers, put up advertisement in newspaper, mail marketing letter or creating one hot marketing idea. That's what most business owners thought. If you think that's all you need to do on marketing, then I suggest you read on. Throwing flyers, advertising, direct mailers are only a small part of a marketing plan. However it was thought to be the most important process that most business owners focus all the energy in this area. Look at your marketing as a process. This process goes from generating response to the prospect buys from you. The only reason for marketing is to grow your business. Meaning - increase your profit. So what is this simple principle of marketing? Look at marketing as a whole process not as individual entity. You may have the hottest marketing idea which generate good response for you. With all the prospects coming to your shop or calling you does not add to your profit. What matter is to convert these prospect into buying customers. Customers who buy your products, pay you the money. Most business owners tend to put less effort into this conversion process and put most effort into the generating response process. Are you one of them? I have to be clear here. I'm not advocating that you should pull down your generating response process, but I do hope you can strike a balance on the whole marketing plan. This is a example of this simple principle of marketing.

The telesales or sales consultant process is equally important. Once I was responding to an advertisement on an internet marketing seminar. The company has the option of sending short messages(sms) via mobile phone to register my place. This company didn't reply my sms. I do not know if I'm being registered. They didn't send any reminder to remind me of the date of the seminar. Of course, I didn't attend the seminar. This company created responses. However, they had a poorly built system in their marketing process. They didn't know the principle of marketing. Now you know this principle of marketing. Use it. Apply it into your marketing plan and watch the result.
