Marketing tip for you - Consistency


A marketing tip to build your marketing. Do you always change your marketing strategy? You may be making a mistake by changing your marketing strategy too often.

Consistent in marketing can means many things. You will find out what does it means to be consistent in marketing.


1. Do your exposure regularly

Never, never stop marketing. You must expose your business consistently to the market to prevent the market from forgetting you. If you expect to have a once off huge marketing campaign to attract your clients, you may be disappointed.

80% of the people takes time to accept a new products, service or business. The rest of the 20% may have other objections. Putting all you have into once off huge marketing campaign is a waste of resources.

You must create a plan to expose your business consistently. After your once off campaign, then what?

In my first year of my business, I almost lost my business due to inconsistency in exposing my business. We clinched a huge contract thought it will last us for a long time. We actually stop all marketing activities for three months. Guess what, it took us another six months before our next contract comes in to save us.

This is due to the stoppage of marketing activities. We didn't realize that our clients forgot about us, it takes another six months before the market accept us again.

No matter what happen, never stop marketing. Does this marketing tip help you?


2. More marketing tip - Don't change you message

You are building your presence in the market. You want your prospect to know about you. You want to build a brand. So don't change the stuff that you are going to tell your prospect too often. Always say the same things to everyone you met. Your sales script for your sales people must convey the same message. Your marketing collateral must convey the same message.

Change your message too often will confuse your prospect. Imagine, today you are shouting, "we build your website". Tomorrow you are shouting, "we manage events". You not only confuse your prospect, you lose credibility, they lose trust.

In our business our message is to train young entrepreneurs. We have not change our message for the last few years. It builds our credibility and brand in the community. Our prospect knows us by that message.


3. Last marketing tip - Don't change your image

Changing your company logo or letterhead too often do you no good. Your logo is like your name. Changing your name to often, you will start to lose your identity.

You need to build an identity to represent your business. When people sees your logo, they know what is stands for. Look at Nike, did they ever change that "tick". It was there twenty years ago. Now, most people i the world know what that "tick" stands for.

Marketing to build an brand and identity takes time. But its worth the time. Consistency is the key.
