Know your customer, build your business into million

Yes, know your customer can bring you more wealth than you can ever imagine. Understanding them can really bring you the the business that you desire. The more you know about them, the higher the chance of them becoming your life time customers.

Always take the chance to know your customer. Understand the way they think, know their family background, their working environment, and their hobby.

Imagine you are a gun. This gun is for building a multi million business, or closing sales. A gun has to be loaded with ammunition before it can be fired.

Now, all the information that you have about your customers are your ammunition. Don't you agree with me that the more ammunition you have, the higher chance you can hit your target.

Usually before I start any presentation, I will gather all information I can about my customer. Many years ago when I was selling some christmas gift for the season. I met this lady, found out that she has four grandchildrens.

That was a piece of valuable information. I sold her the idea of giving those gifts to her grandchildren. She bought gifts for all her grandchildren from me. You see, if I do not have that information, She would most likely not buy from me.

Use that piece of information effectively

Once you get to know your customer, learn how to use that valuable information to your advantage. Top sales people knows when, where, how to use that information. He knows how to use it effectively.

There was once that I was selling seminar to this guy. I found out that he had a newborn daughter, he's working as an accountant. He hoped to spend more time with his daughter.




By using all these information correctly, I showed him why his dream of spending more time with his daughter is not going to happen.

He was convinced that by going to that seminar, he's going to learn skills that was going to help him achieve time freedom.

Learn to ask question to know your customer. Questions like:

"Are you married?"

"How many childern do you have?"

"Why do you think you will need our product?"

"Where did you graduate from?"

"Do you intend to own a business?"

"Do you travel often?"

These are just some questions you can ask to know about your customer. These questions are only examples, you may want to change it to fit them in your presentation.

With the information, you then plan your presentation or strategy according to those information.

It will be your advantage if you can Sun Tzu's Art of War states, knowing your enemy and thyself will win every battle. In any sales presentation you go into, always find out about your customers. It will be an advantage to you.
